The Moon
Illusion, intuition, fear, the unconscious, dreams.
Upright
The Moon is the night country: dreams, fears, intuition and the things you cannot see clearly but can feel. It speaks of illusion and uncertainty — a situation that is not what it seems, or a stretch of not knowing that must simply be walked through. The path goes on between the towers. Trust your instinct over what you think you see.
Reversed
Reversed, the fog begins to lift. It marks clarity returning, fears losing their grip, a confusion or deception coming to light. It can also warn against ignoring your intuition. What was murky is becoming plain.
On the card
A full moon with a sleeping face looks down on a path that runs between two towers into the distant hills. A dog and a wolf howl at the sky, and a crayfish crawls out of a pool in the foreground. Drops of light fall like dew.
In love
Uncertainty, mixed signals, a connection you feel but cannot name. Do not fill the gaps with fear.
Confusion clearing, a truth about the relationship surfacing. Let it.
At work
Something is not what it seems — read the fine print and trust your unease.
A misunderstanding resolves; a hidden agenda is revealed. Move forward.
As advice
Do not decide in the dark. Wait for daylight, but keep walking.
The fear was bigger than the thing. Now that you can see it, act.
Questions people ask about The Moon
Is the Moon a yes or no card?
Maybe. You do not have the whole picture yet. Do not decide in the dark.
For a yes-or-no question, draw a single card: the one-card spread.
What kind of person is the Moon?
Someone mysterious or moody, possibly not entirely honest, or simply a deeply intuitive, dreamy person you cannot read. Not everything about them is on the surface.
How does the Moon feel about you?
Their feelings are confused or hidden: either they do not know what they feel, or they are not saying. Do not fill the silence with your fears.
What does the Moon say about timing?
Unclear, and not yet. Wait for the fog to lift; a decision made now is made in the dark.
