Upright

The World is completion. It is the end of the Fool's journey and the reward for the whole of it: wholeness, achievement, integration, the feeling of having arrived. It can speak of literal travel, or of a cycle closing so well that the next one can begin without loose ends. When it appears, you have done it. Celebrate before you start again.

Reversed

Reversed, the cycle is not quite closed: shortcuts taken, delays, a lack of closure, a goal in sight but not reached. Something remains unfinished. Go back and complete it properly; the whole will not hold otherwise.

On the card

A dancer wrapped only in a purple sash floats inside a great wreath of laurel, a wand in each hand. In the four corners are the heads of a man, an eagle, a lion and a bull — the four fixed signs, the four elements.

In love

Fulfilment, a relationship that feels whole, a milestone reached together.

Something unresolved between you, or a fear of the commitment that completion means.

At work

A big finish, a degree, a launch, a promotion. The long project lands.

Almost there, but not quite. Tie up the loose ends before you move on.

As advice

Finish it, and let yourself feel finished.

Do not skip the last step. It is the one that makes it whole.
