12-card spread

Year wheel

Twelve cards in a circle, one for each month, starting at the top with January and moving clockwise. It is a spread for the turn of the year or a birthday: a card to carry into each month, read together as the shape of the year ahead.

Reading it well

Start where you are

Lay January at the top and read clockwise — or begin at the current month and walk the year from here.

Look for the thread

Count the suits: a year heavy in Cups reads very differently from one full of Swords. Majors mark the months that matter.

A practical opening in January, a February for rest, and a rush of energy in March. Spring brings a partnership in April and good teamwork in May, and June's Sun is the high point of the year. July moves fast; August asks for patience with something still growing. September is for study, October closes a chapter, November is quiet and inward, and December's Ten of Cups ends the year at home, happy.
