The Lovers
Love, union, harmony, values, meaningful choices.
Upright
The Lovers is union — of two people, and of the two halves of a choice. It speaks of love that is chosen with open eyes, of partnership built on shared values, and of the moment you decide what matters and act on it. The card is as much about alignment as romance: are your heart and your choices pointing the same way?
Reversed
Reversed, something is out of alignment: a relationship where the values differ, a decision being avoided, or a choice made for the wrong reasons. It can mark disharmony or temptation. Be honest about what you actually want, then choose.
On the card
A man and a woman stand naked in a garden while a great angel with red wings blesses them from a cloud. Behind the woman grows the tree of knowledge with its serpent; behind the man, a tree of flames. A mountain rises between them under a bright sun.
In love
A meaningful bond, a deepening, a decision to be together. Honesty is the whole thing.
Misaligned values, a triangle, or a partnership out of balance. Talk about what each of you needs.
At work
A strong partnership or a values-driven choice between two paths. Pick the one you can stand behind.
A bad fit, or a decision made for money against your gut. Realign.
As advice
Choose with your values, not just your feelings — then commit fully.
Stop straddling. A choice half-made costs more than either option.
