Two of Wands · Minor Arcana
Two of Wands
Planning, future vision, decisions, discovery.
Upright
The Two of Wands is the world in your hand and the question of what to do with it. It speaks of planning, ambition and the moment between deciding to go and going: you have the idea, the resources and a view of the horizon. The card asks for a real decision — one that commits to a direction, even if it means leaving safety behind.
Reversed
Reversed, the planning has become the point. It marks fear of the unknown, a decision avoided, or a safe choice made when a bold one was needed. The globe is still in your hand; it will not turn itself.
On the card
A man in red stands on the battlements of a castle holding a small globe in one hand and a wand in the other; a second wand is fixed to the wall beside him. He looks out over the sea and mountains toward what he has not yet reached.
In love
A choice about the future — moving in, moving on, moving somewhere together. Plan it out loud.
Playing it safe in love, or one of you unwilling to commit to a direction.
At work
Strategy, expansion, a partnership or a bigger market. Think large and plan well.
Poor planning, or a fear of leaving the current position. The view from the wall is not the journey.
As advice
Pick a horizon and make the plan that gets you there.
The safe option is quietly costing you. Choose the one that scares you a little.
