Three of Wands · Minor Arcana
Three of Wands
Expansion, foresight, progress, looking ahead.
Upright
The Three of Wands is the ships already sent. The plans of the Two have been acted on, and now you wait — with confidence — for what you set in motion to come back. It speaks of expansion, foresight and progress: things are moving, opportunities are widening, and the horizon is closer than it was. Stay on the cliff and keep watching.
Reversed
Reversed, the ships are late or lost. It marks obstacles, delays, frustration with slow progress, or a lack of foresight that left you unprepared. Check whether the plan needs adjusting, or whether you just need to wait a little longer.
On the card
A figure in a red robe stands on a cliff with their back to us, one hand resting on a wand, watching ships cross a golden sea. Two more wands stand planted beside them.
In love
Looking ahead together, a long-distance connection, or travel that changes things. Optimism is warranted.
Delays or distance straining things, or plans that never seem to arrive.
At work
Growth, trade, overseas opportunities, a project scaling up. Your early work is paying off.
Setbacks in expansion; something you did not plan for. Widen the view.
As advice
Be patient and stay outward-looking. What you sent is coming back.
Look further ahead than you have been. What did you not account for?
