Five of Swords
Conflict, defeat, winning at all costs, tension.
Upright
The Five of Swords is winning the wrong way. It speaks of conflict, defeat, hollow victory and the cost of winning at all costs — the man has the swords, and he has no friends. The card asks whose side you are on in the picture, and whether the fight was worth what it cost.
Reversed
Reversed, the swords are put down. It marks reconciliation, making amends, releasing old resentment, or a conflict you finally choose not to have. It can also be lingering bitterness. Let the others come back for their swords.
