Pentacles
Pentacles are the suit of earth: work, money, the body, the home and the material world. They are what you build, keep and can hold in your hands. The pentacle is a coin marked with a star, and older decks call the suit Coins or Disks, but Smith's cards are about more than money: they are about craft, patience, health, gardens and the long work of making a life that holds.
Pentacles are the slowest suit and the most dependable. They rarely surprise, and what they promise tends to arrive, a season or a year later than you wanted and more solid than you expected.

Reading the Pentacles
When Pentacles dominate
The question is practical, even if it feels emotional: money, work, health or a home. Look at what is physically in front of you.
Reversed Pentacles
Material worries, neglect of the body or of the work, or the opposite: a grip on security so tight it stops you living. Ask what you are guarding, and why.
In timing
Pentacles are slow. Many readers count them in months or years.
