Knight of Cups
Romance, charm, imagination, following the heart.
Upright
The Knight of Cups is the romantic. He speaks of charm, imagination, invitation and following the heart — the proposal, the grand gesture, the artist who means it. He is not in a hurry; he arrives with the cup already offered. When the card appears, an emotional offer is coming, or you are the one to make it.
Reversed
Reversed, the romance is unreliable. It marks moodiness, unrealistic ideals, disappointment, or someone who offers the cup and never delivers it. It can also be a heart that leads and never checks with the head. Ask whether the gesture has anything behind it.
On the card
A knight in winged helmet rides a calm white horse at a walk, holding a cup out before him as if presenting it. A river winds through the fields behind.
In love
A proposal, a romantic pursuit, someone who says how they feel. Beautiful, if it is real.
Charm without depth, or an idealised love that cannot survive daylight.
At work
A creative pitch, a diplomatic approach, an offer that appeals to the heart.
Over-promising, flakiness, or decisions made on feeling alone.
As advice
Make the gesture. Say the thing. Lead with your heart.
Check the offer against the record. Words are not the same as cups.
